FDI Center will be taking part in AIM Congress, a leading investment platform in the Middle East. The conference will take place on 6 – 9 May in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As part of our knowledge partnership with AIM Global, FDI Center will be delivering a workshop and panel discussion.
As part of the pre-conference events on May 6, managing director, Andreas Dressler will be delivering a workshop on “Strategy and leadership: How to create and lead a high performing IPA”. The workshop will take place at 14:30-16:30 and is ran under our partnership with Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge. In this session participants will gain a comprehensive insight into the trends and challenges facing an IPA in current times. They will be guided through the framework of creating a strategy that can help them overcome these challenges while accounting for the size and resources of their IPA. Participants will also learn IPA leadership techniques including how to get their teams on board with this strategy and lead their IPA to success with a shared vision. The content of this workshop is based off the 4-day Advanced FDI Leadership Programme ran bi-annually by FDI Center and Møller Institute at the University of Cambridge. This workshop is designed for investment promotion professionals and particularly those in senior or leadership positions. Attendees of the conferences are invited to register for this workshop on the AIM website here.
Andreas Dressler is also the session leader of the opening session of the foreign direct investment track of AIM Congress on May 7. The panel discussion “Leaders’ Panel: Geopolitical Tensions 2024: New Challenges and New FDIs Destinations” will be a high-level panel event with Ministers, CEOs, and heads of investment of IPAs or similar organizations. The panel will be moderated by Andreas. Joining him on the panel will be: H.E. Ibtisam al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman; Biviana Riveiro Disla, Executive Director, Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic; Daniel Silverman, Vice President Foreign Direct Investment of Investissement Quebec; and Raymond Siva, Head of Digital Investment of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.
