FDI Center speaks at UN ESCAP and WAIPA FDI & Investment conference in Bangkok

On February 21-22, FDI Center attended the IPAs FDI & Investment Conference organised by WAIPA and United Nations ESCAP in Bangkok. The conference provided an opportunity for investment promotion agencies from across the Asia-Pacific region to come together to share their experiences in promoting FDI for sustainable development and the digital economy.

FDI Center’s Managing Director, Andreas Dressler, participated on a panel on “Pro-active investment attraction: creating effective strategies and best practices in FDI”, which was moderated by Dushyant Thakor, Senior Vice President at Invest India and Senior Advisor at WAIPA. Andreas addressed the significance of an effective FDI attraction strategy, the use of a broader set of key performance indicators to measure an IPA’s performance and the critical importance of providing valuable services to investors.

On the second day of the conference, Andreas also ran a masterclass for participating IPAs on “pro-active investment promotion”, which provided practical guidance on how IPAs can identify, approach and engage with potential foreign investors. Andreas also held a presentation on the location requirements of data center companies as part of a masterclass on attracting digital FDI.

FDI Center is pleased to continue its collaboration with WAIPA and UN ESCAP to provide member IPAs in the Asia-Pacific region the skills and tools required to successfully compete for investment.
