FDI Center’s managing director Andreas Dressler participated in a panel discussion entitled “Disruptions to Global Value Chains, Trade and Investment in a Changing World”. Held on October 20, 2020, the discussion was part of the Annual Investment Meeting: Digital Edition (AIM). The discussion focused on changes to global supply chains as a result of COVID-19 as well as the impact of digitalization and automation on foreign direct investment, corporate location decisions and global value chains. The other participants in the discussion were: Marc Engel, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Unilever; Yassir Zouaoui, Partner, McKinsey & Company; Javed Ahmad, Sr. Vice President, Global Supply Chain, Schneider Electric; and James Zhan, Director of the Investment and Enterprise Division, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
FDI Center and ESCAP have launched the Pledge Amongst IPAs to Advance Gender Equity in Foreign Direct Investment. The pledge aims to increase the number of FDI-mandated organizations that incorporate gender equality into their work and apply a gender lens across their operations and services.
