FDI Center participates in a workshop on Special Economic Zone research

FDI Center’s Sebastian Reil and Sidan Raeskyesa were invited by the Kiel Center for Globalization, part of the Kiel Institute for The World Economy, to participate in a workshop on special economic zone (SEZ) research. The workshop was part of a project to study the contribution of special economic zones to foreign direct investment attraction, economic equality, and development in Ghana, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. New research findings were presented and discussed by the participants.

The invitation-only workshop took place on November 30 and December 1, 2021. More details on the workshop and research discussed can be found (here).

FDI Center’s Managing Director, Andreas Dressler, moderated two panels at the OECD’s “strengthening sustainable investment policies: FDI Qualities Ministerial Council Meeting” in Paris. The focus of this event was on how sustainable investment policies can support the COVID-19 recovery, advance the 2030 agenda on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on climate change, and help to secure livelihoods for future generations.
