FDI Center attended the annual WAIPA World Investment Conference (WIC) in Warsaw, Poland, on October 7 and 8, 2019. The event addressed current topics in investment promotion and foreign direct investment and was attended by approximately 200 participants, including the leaders of investment promotion agencies from around the world. As part of the event, FDI Center’s managing director Andreas Dressler moderated a panel about “FDI in the digitalized world” on October 8, 2019, with panelists from SAP, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the European Game Developers Federation and the International Trade Centre. The panel discussion focused on the impact of digital technologies on corporate business models and location decisions, and the implications for countries, regions and cities seeking to attract high value foreign direct investment.
