FDI Center moderates panel on global value chain optimization

FDI Center’s managing director, Andreas Dressler moderated a panel discussion on global value chain optimization at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Dubai. This was the tenth time that FDI Center partnered with AIM as an official knowledge partner. 

The realignment of global value chain optimization is leading to major changes in corporate location footprints and international investment decisions, which has significant implications for governments and investment promotion agencies seeking to attract foreign direct investment. The discussion focused on the impact of global value change realignment on corporate investment decisions and how governments, investment promotion agencies and special economic zones can respond to these changes.  

The panel featured foreign direct investment experts and leaders from investment promotion agencies (IPAs). These included James X. Zhan, Director of Investment and Enterprise of the UN Conference on Trade and Development; Eng. Ahmed Al-Baqawi, VP for Studies from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund; Cristián Rodríguez- Chiffelle, Scholar and International Consultant in the fields of FDI and trade and Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
