FDI Center’s Luigi Mercuri and Paola Suarez Buhrmann conducted a two-day seminar with the World Free Zone Convention in London on April 15 and 16, 2019. The seminar focused on the major issues currently impacting the conception, design, implementation, operations and marketing of special economic zones throughout the world. The seminar provided participants with practical guidance for strengthening the marketing and investment attraction activities of their zones. Topics covered included: the current global FDI scenario; challenges facing free and special economic zones; the influence of technology on FDI flows; the role of incentives in investment attraction; the growing importance of sustainability in investment attraction; targeting and approaching potential investors; as well as marketing, branding and promoting special economic zones worldwide.
