FDI Center and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will host a webinar on “Global Uncertainty, Local Impact: Attracting FDI Today” on July 16 at 13:00 – 14:00 Eastern Time (USA) / 19:00 – 20:00 CEST (Central Europe).
This webinar will delve into how different forms of uncertainty—from tariff fluctuations and policy changes related to the Inflation Reduction Act, to labor market disruptions and geopolitical tensions—are shaping FDI decisions today.
For US economic development organizations (EDOs), these shifts pose complex challenges—and call for strategic foresight. With heightened uncertainty influencing investor decisions, EDOs must stay informed, agile, and equipped to respond to rapidly changing conditions in order to sustain and grow investment in their communities.
The session will offer insight into how these forces are playing out at federal, state, and local levels, and what EDOs can do to provide clarity and stability to current and prospective investors. Building on the forecasts presented during FDI Center’s workshop at the IEDC Leadership Summit in February 2025, the discussion will also provide updates on business movement and investment patterns.
This webinar will be moderatd by FDI Center’s Managing Director, Andreas Dressler and feature the following guests as speakers:
- Deb Scherer, SVP Global Trade and Investment, One Columbus
- Nick Triska: Head of Business Development, Greater Portland
- Paulina San Millan: SVP Business Development, Intersect Illinois
- Noah Olson, Director of Innovation, Choose Delaware
