For the eighth year running, FDI Center’s managing director Andreas Dressler participated as a speaker at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Dubai. Andreas Dressler moderated a panel discussion entitled “Blockchain, Big Data & AI: Foreseeing the Impact of Digital Economies” with a group of panelists that included representatives of IBM, Intel and Huawei Technologies. The session highlighted the role of foreign direct investment in driving the spread of digitalization as well as the changing nature of FDI itself and the impact this has on locations seeking to attract investment. Participants provided real examples of high new technologies are transforming industries and discussed what governments must do to enhance and retain their locations’ attractiveness for corporate investment.
