Organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Secretariat, the Third Ministerial Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration in Asia and the Pacific was held on 28th September until 30th September 2022. The conference brought together high-ranking government officials and representatives from multilateral organizations and the private sector to share their contributions. The topic of the event was “Building Resilience to Crises through Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration”.
Upon invitation from the UN ESCAP Secretariat, FDI Center joined an expert panel on “Towards an inclusive digital future” on the 29th September. Kim Zietlow emphasized the importance of dedicated and well-trained staff inside IPAs, who share the mindset of digital entrepreneurs. He stressed the importance for IPAs to understand the needs of companies in the digital economy, and how a digital investment strategy helps IPAs give direction and allocate financial and human resources efficiently. In addition, he explained how regional partnerships between countries and ecosystem building can facilitate digital FDI flows.
